Job Description:

As a fast growing prestigious outside caterer we require full time, casual labour or self employed chef de parties to head chefs to help build our culinary team.


You will be responsible for the smooth running and execution of large and small events with a team of chefs to support you. We are looking for dynamic, disciplined chefs with outside catering experience to join a highly motivated brigade. You will be professional, confident and have a welcoming personality. You will have the ability to work under pressure and have experience working in a production kitchen.


You must have you own transport and ideally a clean driving license due to occasionally driving a company vehicle.


We require candidates who have a genuine passion and enthusiasm for the events industry. You must have good knowledge of food and great attention to detail.


We are appointed sole caterers for 4 stunning venues and approved caterers at many other prestigious venues in Kent we also provide catering for high end private clients in their houses and marquees.


Successful candidates will be encompassing the following as part of their role:-


  • Kitchen management for 20 – 500 plus covers (hands on experience of this is essential)

  • Excellent experience in outside catering or banqueting

  • Fantastic organisational skills

  • Hands on

  • Quick learner with the ability to adapt to extraordinary conditions

  • Ability to work under pressure

  • Excellent computer skills

  • Originality: Able to create exciting new dishes and contribute dishes for the seasonal tasting and other events

  • Innovative: keen to explore new food techniques, methods and presentation

  • Must be able to communicate in a positive, professional, and courteous manner, both verbal and written, with all employees and others

  • Ability to lead the team as required at an event or in a given project


In terms of background, you will need to have worked in 5 star conference and/or hotel/venues or for a respected organisation or Outside Event Caterer for at least three years. You will be classically trained in most culinary techniques, and you will be supervising a team of casual staff employees and agency staff.


If you match the following criteria, then this position may be for you:-


  • 3 years event experience in 5 star hotels in conference and banqueting/ event caterer

  • Experience with private dining

  • Effective communicator

  • Excellent organisational skills/a real eye for detail

  • Self-motivated and disciplined

  • Strong Health and Safety and First Aid Qualification, strong knowledge of H/R and Legal Right to work in E.U.(Documentary proof will be needed and references required)

  • You will be responsible for maintaining a safe working environment

  • Work closely with the team to maintain and improve standards

  • Be in a similar role currently

  • Be able to work on your own or as a team

  • Work unsupervised and have experience of volume catering using fresh ingredients
