Job Description:

As a fast growing prestigious outside caterer we require Event Managers to take control of the functions side the business with a strong trade in Weddings, Corporate Events and Private Parties. We require candidates who have a genuine passion and enthusiasm for the events industry. You must have good knowledge of food and wine and have great attention to detail.


We are appointed sole caterers for 4 stunning venues and approved caterers for many other prestigious venues in Kent we also provide catering for high end private clients in their houses and marquees. The main purpose of the role is to create a wonderful client experience, and to ensure that all planning and coordination is delivered in operations on the day as per agreements. You will have overall responsibility for presentation/health and safety and guest welfare.


The successful candidates will be encompassing the following as part of their role:-

  • Following up and converting sales leads using the online contact management system

  • Client liaison from start to finish including meeting with clients to discuss their requirements

  • File management

  • Wedding planning and co-ordination

  • Staffing

  • Event Management for 20 – 500 plus covers (hands on experience of this is essential)

  • Representing the company at exhibitions/marketing fairs

  • Planning new promotions and initiatives, and contributing to business development


In terms of background, you will need to have worked in 5 star conference and/or hotel/venues or for a respected organisation or Outside Event Caterer for at least three years. You will be financially astute, immaculately presented and be able to develop the client experience. You will be classically trained in all service techniques, and you will be supervising a team of casual staff employees and agency staff. You will also be responsible for their training and development. The salary on offer is £negotiable. In the main this is a 7 day operation, and as many events will take place at the weekend this will be the norm for your working week. 


If you match the following criteria, then this position may be for you:-


  • 3 years event management experience in 5 star hotels in conference and banqueting/ event caterer

  • Experience with private dining

  • Experience of both operations and sales

  • Effective communicator

  • Excellent administration and organisational skills/a real eye for detail

  • Self-motivated and disciplined

  • Strong Health and Safety and First Aid Qualification, strong knowledge of H/R and Legal Right to work in E.U.(Documentary proof will be needed and references required)
